A Peek Over The Plans: Maricopa is Building a Bright Future (Volume 4)

Contractors, developers, and small business owners have been utilizing our existing virtual services to ensure that their projects continue on schedule! Maricopa continues to ensure work gets done while still being responsible and following public health guidelines and instructions. Below is a recap of Copper Sky Commercial project, one of the many exciting projects happening around our city. During the planning and development process the project may change slightly from what is depicted below.
Copper Sky North
Copper Sky Commercial is a mixed use public-private partnership bringing much-needed retail, multifamily, assisted living, and hotel space to the City’s Recreation Complex. The 10.5 acres on the north side of the site are currently in the entitlement/design process and will offer 256 apartments, assisted living space, and 30,000 sq ft of retail.
All components of the development including La Quinta consist of approximately 1.36 million sq ft with a total investment of $157 million.
Seasons Living at Copper Sky
Seasons Living senior living facility will be more than 125,000 square feet and sit on 3.22 acres. Offering a variety of care levels from independent living, to assisted living, to memory care, the project will contain 146 units. On-site amenities include a bistro / wine bar, private dining, fitness center with group exercise room, theater, chapel, library, activity rooms, lounges, card room, barber, beauty salon and more.
Copper Sky South
The 7.9 acres on the south side of Copper Sky Commercial continue the mixed use development of the north. With La Quinta under construction, the multifamily and retail are currently in the entitlement process. Once completed, the south side of the project will offer an additional 256 apartments, and 20,300 sq ft of retail.
La Quinta Inn & Suites
La Quinta Inn & Suites is a midscale hotel that offers an elevated stay in a contemporary setting. The new La Quinta aims to be operational in 2020 and will be located on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard adjacent to Copper Sky. La Quinta Maricopa is a projected $10 million capital investment with 20 net new jobs added to the city. The four-story, 89-room hotel is the first phase of the planned Copper Sky Mixed Use project.
